Satish recently completed his BE from a Vintage Technical Institute in Central India. During the campus interviews he was selected for Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. and recently has been undergoing the training at the Gurgaon facility of TCS. He also got his appointment letter mentioning all the terms and conditions related to his employment.

 

Satish was shocked to see that his employer, a Big IT leader in the sector has provided a small health insurance cover of INR 2L only for himself. Whereas he himself is covered with his family insurance for an amount of 10L which his father is paying since last 8-9 years. Satish discussed this with our consultant recently and was very vocal on the employer providing this kind of paltry cover to its employees.

After a proper discussion with our consultant he was convinced that he will get his name deleted from his parent’s family insurance and get it continued as a individual policy. With this he can add a few more additional benefits to the policy like –

1) Future Shield – Where the future spouse of Satish will get immediate cover for all exclusions mentioned in the policy.

2) Consumables Cover – Where all the expenses related to consumables and non payable items will be covered which are normally not covered in the older versions of the policy.

3) Deductible option -When a person is already covered with a group cover or has his own existing insurance then he can opt for a deductible option where in case of a claim he can use the 1st policy and after its exhaustion can opt to take the benefit of the 2nd one. The premium of the 2nd plan is very less as compared to the base cover premium policies due to selection of the amount of deductible.

Satish was fully satisfied with the suggestions provided by our consultant and also decided to buy a Term Cover of INR 1Cr to start with.
